Delcam CRISPIN, the worlds largest supplier of CADCAM software to the footwear industry, has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Marc Delahodde as Business Development Manager. M. Delahodde returned to Europe in 1988 to work for Microdynamics in Munich, Germany, when the company was becoming the leader for CADCAM systems in the sewn goods industry with its FDS footwear design products. He continued in that position through successive takeovers by Gerber, USM and Texon, during which time he contributed to various software developments including the merging of the FDS and CRISPIN product ranges. In 2005, he left to co-found a small company in France, CID, specialising in CADCAM software and production cutters for the leather goods and footwear industries.
Commenting on the appointment, Delcams Commercial Director, Bart Simpson, said, "I am confident that Marcs extensive knowledge of using CADCAM for shoe design and his long experience in the footwear industry will help us to continue to grow the sales of our CRISPIN software. Despite our leading position in the industry, we still feel that there are many opportunities to further increase our sales, both in the design departments of the major brands and in the factories manufacturing footwear.
